On Main Gallery is an artist-run organization dedicated to encouraging, producing and presenting contemporary visual and media art from emerging and established Canadian artists. Our programming is challenging, diverse and enlightening to local, national and international audiences. Our mission is to provide opportunities for emerging and established artists to create, present and disseminate new work.

Established in 1985 as On Edge (On The Cutting Edge Production Society), our organization emerged as a direct response to the lack of initiatives in presenting contemporary media arts around issues of diversity and interdisciplinary practices. On Edge has played a leading role in the careers of emerging, mid-career and established artists by exhibiting shows locally, nationally and internationally. In addition, we have participated in key conferences and symposia, and have worked as advisors and consultants to organizations and educational institutions around issues of diversity and new media art practices.

We acknowledge the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), Semiahmoo, Katzie, Kwikwetlem, Kwantlen, Stó:lō, and Tsawwassen First Nations on which Capture Photography Festival takes place.
